Some games ask you to save the world. Urban Jungle simply asks you to breathe.
Urban Jungle is a relaxing, plant-focused, decorating, and organizing experience where you transform compact urban spaces into lush green havens. Instead of fast-paced objectives, the game invites you to slow down, decorate, and reconnect with nature in a deeply personal way. I got the chance to play this on the Xbox release and couldn’t be more excited.
The premise is simple: place plants around small living spaces, balancing aesthetics with their needs: light, positioning, and harmony within their companion plants.
The main story in Urban Jungle walks you through your seasons in life, ups and downs, focusing on the importance of following your dreams and passions. I found it to be very inspiring, and I even dare to say…healing. Like a very light self therapy session that you didn’t even know was needed.

It feels like the kind of game that doesn’t demand your attention…it gently earns it. From the moment you start arranging your first plants in a cramped apartment, it becomes clear this isn’t about winning or rushing forward. It’s about slowing down, observing a space, and quietly transforming it into something more alive.
Each level gives you a new space and a set of plants to work with. The goal is simple: make the room feel complete. But as you experiment, you realize placement matters more than expected. Some plants thrive in certain spots, others don’t, and suddenly what looked like a purely decorative task turns into a subtle puzzle.
There’s also the collectors spirit factor (not gonna lie, I’m a sucker for collecting and completing items) On your menu you’re able to go through the pages of a booklet and every time you buy a new plant it gets recorded on it so you can check its info at any time.

Speaking of plants, the art department did an amazing job working on the designs of every item in the game. The visuals scream cozy game, even when you land at a new set supposed to look messy. It’s a game friendly to the eye, despite having a lot of things happening at the same time, you’re able to get a grasp of every single detail
Another thing I found extremely cozy related was the music and sounds in general. You could leave the game on while on a break and just listen to the OST and it makes the perfect relaxing background noise to do whatever you need to do. (No pressure on the studio but I need that soundtrack up on Spotify soon please).
Now, it wouldn’t be a sincere review without the frustration factor.
Despite its charm, the experience can start to feel familiar over time. The gameplay loop doesn’t evolve dramatically, and the balance between creativity and optimization can sometimes break immersion (especially when you’re placing plants for efficiency rather than aesthetics). It took some time for me to get used to the sensitivity and control over the targets. I’m sure that the experience using a mouse and keyboard would make more sense, but overall, it wasn’t something that would stop me from playing.
Moving forward, you’re able to play in creative mode. Then the coziness and relaxation levels skyrocket! You can just take your time organizing, moving stuff around and not worry too much about which plant hates which and just focus on the aesthetics of the room. I won’t get too much into this mode so you’ll have to play the game to find out more!
So, all I can say is Urban Jungle definitely is one game to get into if you’re a cozy gamer, plant lover or just a chill game type of person. Let me know if you find all the rare plants!
