After about a week and a half after its announcement, Jagex has confirmed that they have scrapped and canceled the launch of RuneScape Reignited.

When the game was originally announced as a way to bring in new and returning players to the world of RuneScape 3 with remastered visuals and a blanket refresh on everything, it had a mixed reaction among the current standing player base. Jagex then attempted a pivot to smooth over some issues the community initially had (cosmetics, titles, etc not coming over for Veteran players being some) and it seemed to have upset more people.
As of today, Jagex released a post on their site explaining that RuneScape Reignited is officially canceled.
So What Does This Mean?
For one, it means the whole economy and stat wipe are no longer happening. Everything and everyone will exist in the same world with no fears of world records, high scores, or characters being refreshed.
The Adventure Guide (a way to assist new/returning players from being overwhelmed) is still being released to the community. You’ll also be able to start with a 10 day free trial in December.
Even though I was personally looking forward to this, it makes sense to scrap it with such a huge community divide. RuneScape still has plenty of potential with its Remastered Journey and I truly can’t wait to see what is to come for this and the recently announced RuneScape 4.
Jagex posted their 2027 roadmap to show what is planned for now.
