We’ve all been there. You drop in hot only to realize your teammates are way more interested in their own K/D than working with you. Maybe they’re snagging ALL the chests/loot like it’s the last brownie in the pan, or maybe they are running off on their own and getting downed within minutes.
Don’t be that teammate.
If you want to be the person who people actually remember fondly instead of an “oh God not them” then listen and take these suggestions into consideration. These are some ways to improve your multiplayer gaming etiquette.
1. Share The Loot. Don’t Hoard It.
If you don’t need the loot, don’t hold the dang loot. There is nothing more infuriating than looking for a medkit or potion just to find out your “partner” has held 45 of them for the whole match without offering one. Give the gear up. You just might win the match.
2. Ping. Ping. Ping.
Let me know where the danger is. Let me know where the loot is. Let me know where YOU are going. However, since pinging is more like an art form, there is absolutely NO need to spam the heck out of the button. No one wants to hear or see that over and over.
3. Rambo Is A No-No.
Looking to get your clip? Sweet. Do that solo. Not with your rando teammates looking to get a win. Don’t run off and get downed just because your ego cannot handle you being decent help.
4. Revive First
I know. I knooooow. The site’s name is Don’t Revive Your Friends. However, that is more for us to yell at the bad guys so they can stay down. You know what happens when you actually revive your friends? They get back up and can help in the fight. I know the purple and gold loot is enticing, but I’m over here bleeding out!

5. My Kill Is Not Your Skill
Look, I get it. You see an enemy, you pounce. But unless we are in direct danger of getting eliminated, try not to take the one glory moment I’ll probably have in the match. Give me that moment, please.
6. Stick To The Plan
If we all agree to hold off and not push. Do that. If you’re the teammate that deviates from the plan and gets us all sent back to the lobby, I forever dislike you. Yes, sometimes it works out but let us all get crushed in solidarity rather than being the lone wolf. Teamwork actually works out way more than you’d think.
7. Use Your Microphone With Caution
I don’t want to hear your music. I don’t want to hear you coughing and crumbling your snack bags in my ears ASMR style. And you know what? No one else does either. You may think it’s fine to broadcast your house party as we’re playing but now we’re all distracted and I couldn’t hear the enemy’s footsteps over your need to show me your poor taste in music.
8. GGs
It was a hard fought battle for all of us. Some may have used dirty tactics and others just simply outplayed you. Regardless of the outcome, a good GG at the end of the match calms everyone’s adrenaline.
The Bottom Line
So there you have it. Good teammates are the rarest of drops but you can for sure turn yourself into God Roll mate in no time. Follow these steps to improve your multiplayer gaming etiquette, crank out the wins, and you know what? Meet some new friends!
